LifeNet
Engineered Science Building
Virginia Beach,
Virginia
LifeNet
is the nation’s largest nonprofit organ donation agency and tissue
banking system. The new 42,000 square foot
Science
Building is a research facility and is the second building on the
LifeNet campus. Sinclair Pratt Cameron, P.C. designed the headquarters
building which was completed in 2006. The research facility will focus
on the science of developing
regenerative medical products.
The
structural steel framed building combines two story and double height
interior spaces with a dramatic exterior curtain wall. The building is
founded on a system of shallow
spread footings. This level of project is typical of the work Sinclair
Pratt Cameron, P.C. has accomplished throughout its 27 year history in
both design-build and partnering with contractors to create successful
buildings for their clients.
